Sania Mirza has garnered significant support from individuals in Pakistan following the recent disclosure by her ex-husband, Shoaib Malik, regarding his marriage to TV actor and model Sana Javed.
Social media platforms have been abuzz with criticism directed at Malik and Javed for the breakdown of their respective marriages, while many have voiced their solidarity with Sania’s decision to seek a divorce from the Pakistani cricketer.
Adding to the controversy, a podcast aired on news channel Samaa TV alleged that Malik and Sana had been involved in an affair and intimate relationship for the past three years, despite being married to others.
According to the podcast, Sana had only been divorced for three months from her former husband, Umair Jaswal, when she married Malik.
Furthermore, it was claimed that Malik insisted on Sana’s inclusion whenever he was invited for appearances on the channel.
The producer of the podcast revealed, “They were having an affair for the last three years and were intimately involved.”
The producer also mentioned that while Umair Jaswal was unaware of the situation, Sania Mirza, her family, and even Malik’s family became aware of it last year.
Efforts were reportedly made to resolve the situation, but Malik remained unresponsive to any interventions.
Malik and Sania’s high-profile wedding took place in 2010 in Hyderabad, India, while Sana and Jaswal exchanged vows in a private ceremony in 2020.Â
The news of Malik and Sania’s separation only came to light after the former cricketer and Sana shared a photograph from their marriage.
