The Met Gala is held every year on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, USA, and is attended by famous film stars and models from around the world.
This year, Alia Bhatt and Isha Ambani from India participated in fruit embellished dresses. The theme of this year’s Met Gala 2024 is ‘Garden of Time’.
Indian actress Alia Bhatt attended the Met Gala 2024 in a 9 yard saree by renowned designer Sabyasachi, with beautiful hand embroidered flowers. However, the 23 feet long pallu of Alia’s saree grabbed everyone’s attention.
According to Indian media reports, the actress’s traditional yet embellished saree has been crafted by around 163 artisans in 1965 hours at this global fashion event.
On the other hand, Isha Ambani, the only daughter of the Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani, appeared in the pair of fashion designer Rahul Mishra.
In keeping with this year’s Garden of Time theme, Isha Ambani opted for a hand-embroidered saree gown by Rahul Mishra.
Just like Alia Bhatt, Isha Ambani was styled by renowned Indian stylist Anita Shroff Adajania. The applique is done.
According to the stylist, various techniques have been used for the embroidery done on this appliqué work including Farshi, Zardozi, Nakshi, Dabka and French Tinka.
