Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana has also become a victim of a deepfake video. According to Indian media reports, an artificial intelligence-generated deepfake video of the actor went viral on social media, in which he appears to be appealing to people to vote for the BJP while reciting a poem.
In an interview, the actor revealed that the deepfake video was made by supporters of a political party. He explained that with the help of artificial intelligence, anyone’s face can be superimposed onto a video to portray them in a certain role.
He clarified that such tactics do not affect him, as he is only accountable to his family, children, household, and his circle. Responding to a question, the actor mentioned that he was a politician before becoming an actor, which is why people assume he intends to return to politics, which is not true at all.
It is worth noting that before Ashutosh Rana, other Bollywood actors such as Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Nora Fatehi, Sonu Sood, Alia Bhatt, and Rashmika Mandanna have also fallen victim to deepfake videos.
