A sexual predator who sexually assaulted Jewish girls in North London
A asexual predator who sexually assaulted Jewish girls in North London as young as 12 years old was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison after police used his bike rental data to connect him to crime locations.
Over the course of three years, Mohammed Amin attacked or exposed himself to four women and girls.
The Old Bailey heard officers pieced together his activities by following his GPS through his bike rental accounts, after compiling hundreds of hours of CCTV footage.
The information connected him to the Stamford Hill crime scenes, where he searched the mostly Jewish neighborhood for potential targets.
To bring Amin to justice, police collaborated with the neighborhood’s Shomrim security group.
Amin served two years and ten months in prison for the four months he committed in 2021.
One of the offenses, the court was informed, involved a 12-year-old. Leading the inquiry was Detective Constable Patrick Godin, who stated:Â
The statement of today shows how seriously we take these kinds of situations.
“The local team is dedicated to pursuing predators who pose a threat to the safety of females in their community.
“We made every effort to remove this deviant person from Stamford Hill’s streets, and the Shomrim in the area helped us along the way.
“I would want to express my gratitude to the Shomrim for their unwavering support throughout this matter. Their local knowledge allowed them to promptly identify Amin and offer invaluable direction and counsel.
“It is our responsibility to act upon any information and ensure the safety of Londoners.”
The Stamford Hill Shomrim branch got in touch with local police in March 2021 after a victim came forward and disclosed that a guy had exposed himself to her.
Later that evening, people of the nearby neighborhood observed a man who fit the same description and contacted the police.
To develop a case, investigators looked into Amin’s hire bike accounts and bank data.
Amin was at the location of every crime thanks to GPS mapping and phone analysis.
Amin was previously found guilty of sexually assaulting a female on Tuesday, March 19 at Wood Green Crown Court.Â
