A video showing fans throwing an object at famous Pakistani actress Mahira Khan during the Quetta Literature Festival caused a stir on social media. Mahira responded on Instagram, explaining the incident and stating that throwing anything at the stage, even a rose wrapped in a handkerchief, is wrong.
Despite suggestions to cancel the festival because of this incident, Mahira argued against it, saying that the rude actions of one person shouldn’t overshadow the respect shown by thousands of others. She expressed her hope for the festival to grow nationwide, believing such events can bring positive change.
Mahira shared her love for Quetta, hoping to return in the future, and said, “I love you, Quetta. I hope we will meet again.”
Fans praised her bravery and calm response, and fellow artists also commended her. Actress Maryam Nafees admired Mahira’s handling of the situation, expressing pride in her.
Ayman Khan showed support and affection, while Sahha Asghar condemned the behavior, saying it doesn’t represent the true spirit of the nation. Kanza Hashmi praised Mahira’s graceful response, expressed sorrow over the incident, and called for action against such unacceptable behavior.
