Ananya Panday Starrer ‘Call Me Bae’ Gets Release Date
Filmmaker Karan Johar recently unveiled the release date for Bollywood actor Ananya Panday’s digital series debut, “Call Me Bae.”
Taking to Instagram, Johar shared a new poster featuring Panday, announcing that the series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 6.
Directed by Collin D’cunha, “Call Me Bae” also stars Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
The series, created by Ishita Moitra and written by Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, is being produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment.
Comprising eight parts, “Call Me Bae” narrates the journey of Bae, a young woman who loses her heiress status due to a scandal and transforms into a hustler. Throughout her journey, she realizes that her street smarts and charm are her true assets, not diamonds.
Despite her downsized status, she navigates the bustling newsrooms of Mumbai, encountering love interests, sisterhood, and self-discovery.
Ananya Panday, known for her role in the Netflix film “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” portrays Ahana, a character grappling with themes of loneliness, social media fixation, and existential confusion. The film, also starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, received acclaim for its exploration of these themes.
Ahana’s character in “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” reflects the quest for acceptance from her partner.
