New Leak Reveals iPhone 16 Pro’s Striking Design Upgrade
News Desk: It appears that the upcoming release of the next iPhones in September will bring about a significant change in their appearance.
From variations in displays across certain models to a revamped approach for the new-generation processors, enhanced camera lenses, and a fresh thermal design aimed at preventing overheating, there are numerous alterations on the horizon.
A recent leak suggests that the bezels will be even slimmer, potentially making them the narrowest in the world.
The leaker has shared images purporting to showcase the thinner bezels, comparing the iPhone 16 Pro Max to its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max. In a recent post on X, they expressed their preference for the progressively narrower bezel, while suggesting a reduction in the dynamic island.
Displayed side by side, the mock-up of the iPhone 16 Pro appears noticeably narrower than the iPhone 15 Pro, demonstrating that even a slight reduction in bezel size can have a discernible impact.
Although the difference may be subtle, especially when the phone is encased, enhancing the iPhone’s aesthetics beyond the previous year’s model remains a commendable pursuit.
It’s highly likely that if the leaked images indeed depict the thinnest bezels ever seen on a smartphone, Apple will prominently feature this aspect in its marketing of the device. Ice Universe has also shared four images on X, showcasing various bezels, with the thinner ones undeniably appearing more appealing.
The question may arise: is it feasible to further narrow bezels on an iPhone, given the already slim borders around the display on current models? According to Ice Universe, who has a reliable track record as a leaker, thinner bezels are indeed on the horizon for the iPhone 16 Pro.
This aligns with reports of Apple utilizing Border Reduction Structure technology to achieve this feat, although earlier rumors suggested challenges in production due to this technology’s impact on yield.
It’s hard to see how borders can get much thinner but Apple will be happy to claim the “world’s narrowest” crown from Samsung.
Still, every little helps. If the new Pro models are as predicted going to have larger displays than before (6.3 inches and 6.7 inches for the Pro and Pro Max respectively), then thinner bezels may make them fit the hand more easily.
Not everybody is concerned about these things and one person immediately told Ice Universe, “I’ll never understand this need. Never.” To which the leaker replied, “You don’t care about bezel, but if I give you a design of Galaxy A54, you will definitely dislike it for the first time.”
