Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding the rumored marriage of his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, to her co-star Zaheer Iqbal.
Amidst swirling rumors suggesting that the Bollywood diva is set to wed Iqbal on June 23 in Mumbai, Sinha provided clarity on the matter during an interview with an Indian publication in Delhi.
Sinha clarified, “I haven’t had any discussions regarding my daughter’s plans. So, the question of whether she’s getting married arises.
She hasn’t informed me about it. I only know as much as I’ve read in the news.”
He further added, “If and when she confides in me, my wife and I will extend our blessings to the couple. We wish her eternal happiness.”
Asserting his trust in his daughter’s judgment, Sinha emphasized, “We have complete faith in our daughter’s decisions. She wouldn’t make any unlawful or arbitrary choices. As an adult, she has the autonomy to make her own decisions. However, I must mention that when my daughter does get married, I’d love to dance at the wedding procession.”
Reflecting on the prevailing situation, Sinha commented, “People close to me are questioning why I’m unaware of this supposed wedding while the media seems to have all the information. All I can say is that nowadays, children often inform rather than seek consent from their parents. We’re eagerly awaiting her notification.”
For those unfamiliar with the situation, recent reports have suggested that Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, who have been romantically involved for some time, are preparing to tie the knot. According to widely circulated wedding invitations styled as magazine covers, the couple is set to exchange vows at Bastian restaurant in Mumbai on the specified date, surrounded by close friends and family.
