Coming from a showbiz family naturally paved the way for me. I was never interested in acting, probably because my parents were actors, and I took it for granted. However, Nusrat Thakur gave me an opportunity when he wanted me to play Anarkali in his drama.Â
My parents supported the idea, and I went to Lahore for rehearsals with Samiya Mumtaz. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen due to copyright issues.”
Discussing her pivotal role in “Khaie” and her resurgence as an actress, Laila added, “Playing a vital character in ‘Khaie’ was a wonderful experience. Each actor perfectly nailed their character. Filming in the mountains presented travel difficulties, but overall, it was a great experience.”
