Following Shaheen’s exit from the T20 World Cup, showbiz personalities also voiced criticism against the national cricket team and suggested fans consider switching to another sport.

Renowned actor and host Salman Sheikh, known as Mani, posted on Instagram, blaming captain Babar Azam for the team’s disappointing performance.

He shared a photo of Babar Azam with the caption highlighting Babar’s captaincy during three T20 World Cups, one ODI World Cup, and two Asia Cups, lamenting the sad conclusion of this journey with a tearful emoji.

Mani suggested that Pakistan may need a new captain and team for future tournaments, including qualifiers.

In another Instagram story, Mani advised cricket enthusiasts in Pakistan to turn their attention to the ongoing football championship ‘Euro 2024’, implying that cricket fever has dwindled.

Actor Nauman Habib also expressed his views on various social media platforms, characterizing the team’s elimination from the World Cup as a consequence of their actions.

He stated, “Today it’s evident that wishing ill upon others can backfire. As you sow, so shall you reap.”

Nauman Habib criticized Babar Azam’s captaincy, acknowledging his prowess as a batsman but criticizing his leadership skills, suggesting that nothing from team selection to strategy had worked effectively under his guidance.

Previously, actor and host Ahmed Ali Butt had also criticized the national team’s underwhelming performance in the T20 World Cup during a private media appearance, expressing disappointment that players who excel domestically often struggle against international competitors.
