Disney is currently developing a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada,” featuring Meryl Streep alongside Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

While it’s uncertain which original cast members will return, screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the first film, is in negotiations to pen the sequel, as reported by Variety.

Released in 2006, “The Devil Wears Prada” starred Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, the formidable editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt playing her assistants Andrea Sachs and Emily Charlton, respectively.

The upcoming sequel reportedly focuses on Priestly as she navigates challenges in her career amid the changing landscape of magazine publishing. The storyline includes a clash between Priestly and Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive in a luxury group.

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel, the original film was a major success at the box office, grossing $326.7 million worldwide.

Meryl Streep won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy for her role as Miranda Priestly and received an Academy Award nomination.

Recently, Streep, Blunt, and Hathaway reunited onstage at the SAG Awards in February.

In a recent interview, Hathaway and Blunt reminisced about their experiences making the film, recalling some of its most iconic moments and discussing their collaboration with Streep.

“We had an incredibly enjoyable time making that movie,” Blunt told Hathaway. “None of us could have predicted its impact. People quote it to me every week. It’s the film that changed my life.”
