Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistani fast bowler, took to Instagram on Sunday to announce his Umrah pilgrimage. In his post, Afridi shared a photograph from inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah, with the Ka’aba in the background.

“Alhamdulillah Ka’aba’s radiance – The sight of Ka’aba, Allahu Akbar – Allahu Akbar,” he wrote in the caption.

His post garnered widespread congratulations from social media users for achieving this significant religious milestone.

Earlier, Afridi had drawn attention on social media due to reports of a disagreement with coaching staff and team management during Pakistan’s recent tours.

The incident allegedly involved a heated exchange with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during the team’s net practice at Headingly before the T20 World Cup 2024.

It was subsequently reported that former Pakistani captains would intervene to resolve the purported dispute involving white-ball captain Babar Azam, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi.

Sources revealed that the former captains had reached out to all three senior players and offered to mediate, with a meeting planned at the residence of one of the former captains upon Afridi’s return to Pakistan.
