Pakistani cinema star Fawad Khan has finally addressed the speculation surrounding his potential return to Bollywood, hinting at an upcoming romantic comedy.
In an upcoming interview with an Indian media outlet scheduled for July 20, Fawad Khan discussed the rumors about his next Bollywood project, reportedly a romantic comedy alongside Vaani Kapoor.
While neither confirming nor denying the rumors, he remarked to the interviewer, “There have been talks. Again, I will definitely share with you once there is something concrete. How can I hide it?”
For those unaware, recent reports from an Indian entertainment magazine suggested that Fawad Khan is poised for a comeback in Bollywood after an absence of eight years, co-starring with Vaani Kapoor in a yet-to-be-titled rom-com filmed entirely in the UK.
The film, reportedly directed by Aarti Bagdi, is said to revolve around two individuals who, after facing personal setbacks, serendipitously meet, help each other, and eventually find love.
Fawad Khan’s last appearance in Bollywood was in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016). Following the 2016 Uri attack, tensions between India and Pakistan led to the ban on Pakistani artists working in India, affecting his career in the Indian film industry.
