On Wednesday, German police apprehended an American man suspected of stalking Taylor Swift and issuing threats against her and Travis Kelce via social media.

The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was attempting to attend Swift’s concert in Gelsenkirchen. Despite holding a valid ticket, he was taken into custody at the venue’s entry control point prior to the concert.

Authorities decided to arrest him due to ongoing concerns raised during initial investigations, which suggested he might pose a threat, according to police statements.

The Associated Press reported that event organizers had alerted authorities about the individual’s troubling online activities.

Police noted that the man came under scrutiny for making threats against Swift and her partner Travis Kelce. They assured that neither Swift, Kelce (who was present at the concert), nor other attendees were ever in jeopardy.

Following a court order, the man will remain in custody until Saturday.

The Wednesday concert was one of three held in Gelsenkirchen, drawing a crowd of 60,000 fans.

Swift is scheduled to perform a total of seven shows in Germany over the next fortnight, spanning Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, and Munich. Her European tour leg, Eras Tour, concludes with five nights in London in August.
