Travel influencer dies in gorge accident

Tragedy struck when travel influencer Aanvi Kamdar, 27, fell 300 feet into a gorge at Kumbhe waterfall in India, resulting in her death. Kamdar was on a trip with seven friends when the accident occurred on Tuesday.

According to rescuers, she slipped on a slippery patch of rocks and fell into the valley, making it difficult to spot her initially.

A rescue operation was launched, involving multiple agencies and rescuers, which took around six hours to pull Kamdar from the gorge. Despite being initially responsive and put on a ventilator, Kamdar succumbed to her injuries and passed away at Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Reports suggest that Kamdar was shooting an Instagram reel at the time of the accident, lost her footing, and fell into the gorge. With 285,000 Instagram followers, Kamdar was known for her travel tips and had shared her top five places to visit in India during the rainy season just a day before her death.

This incident comes close on the heels of another influencer’s death while filming social media content, highlighting the risks involved in pursuing such ventures.
