WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to access their accounts on multiple devices, a capability that was previously limited.
This feature enables users to link phones as companion devices, making messaging more convenient. Now, users can switch between devices without signing out and seamlessly continue their chats from where they left off.
For small business owners, this means additional employees can respond to customers directly from their phones using the same WhatsApp Business account.
To use WhatsApp’s multi-device support, users simply need to log into their primary phone every 14 days to maintain connectivity across all devices.
To activate WhatsApp on multiple smartphones using companion mode, follow these steps:
- Install WhatsApp on your secondary smartphone.
- During setup, agree to the privacy policies.
- Tap the three dots located in the top-right corner.
- Instead of entering your phone number when prompted, skip this step and access the drop-down menu using the three dots.
- Choose the option to link this phone as a companion device.
- A QR code will be displayed; scan it with your secondary phone to link it to your WhatsApp account.
