HBO is facing another leak, with clips from the season 2 finale of House of the Dragon surfacing on social media. Multiple videos from the eighth and final episode of the hit series began circulating days before its scheduled premiere on August 4, according to Variety.

The clips were first posted to a new TikTok account on Tuesday night, reportedly filmed from a screen using another device. Although the account and videos have since been removed, the content has already been widely shared across platforms like X and TikTok.

HBO has yet to release an official statement regarding the leaks, which could potentially impact the streaming views for the House of the Dragon season 2 finale. It remains unclear who is responsible for the leak. Previously, HBO attributed a similar incident to a distribution partner.

It is worth noting that the finale of House of the Dragon season one also leaked online two days before its premiere in 2022. At that time, HBO traced the leak to a distribution partner in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa. In 2017, a season seven episode of Game of Thrones was similarly leaked to illegal torrent sites before its release, which HBO attributed to a third-party vendor’s error.

Last month, HBO renewed the Game of Thrones prequel for a third season ahead of its season 2 premiere, though the number of episodes has not yet been disclosed. House of the Dragon, based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series focuses on the Targaryen civil war following the death of King Viserys I (Paddy Considine).

The season 2 cast features Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Harry Collett, and Bethany Antonia.
