Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar responded with a witty retort to his critics, revealing that he had received ‘condolence messages’ after a series of his films underperformed at the box office.

During the trailer launch event for his upcoming film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ on Friday, Kumar opened up about his recent dry spell in the industry. Reacting to the mournful messages, he humorously said, “Abbey mara nahi hoon main” (I am not dead)!

He went on to say, “It feels like people are sending me obituary messages, similar to how condolence messages are sent. One journalist even wrote, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll be back.’ I called him to ask what he meant by ‘back.’ Where have I gone?”

“I’m here and I’ll keep working. Main hamesha kaam karte rahunga, chahe log kuch bhi bole (I will continue working, no matter what people say),” he declared. “I wake up in the morning, exercise, go to work, and come home. I earn my living through my own efforts. I will never ask anyone for help. I’ll keep working until they stop me.”

Akshay Kumar is currently looking forward to the release of Mudassar Aziz’s comedy film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, which features Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal, Aditya Seal, and Chitrangada Singh. The film is set to hit theaters on August 15.

In contrast, his last two releases of 2024, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Sarfira’, did not perform well at the box office.
