Akshay Kumar recently donated Rs 1.21 crore for the renovation of the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai, as announced by the Dargah’s official social media account. The renovation, which Akshay has supported, will cost up to Rs 1.21 crore. The trust praised the actor as a “true Mumbaikar” and expressed gratitude for his contribution.

The trust’s Instagram post also mentioned that prayers were offered for Akshay’s late parents, Aruna Bhatia and Hari Om Bhatia, as well as for the country’s prosperity, peace, and unity.

A video shared on social media shows Akshay participating in the rituals and prayers, touring the Dargah, and interacting with its members. His act of generosity was met with widespread admiration from netizens, who left comments like, “Bade Dilwala, so proud Akshay sir” and “Keep up the good work.”

This donation is just one of Akshay Kumar’s many charitable acts. Earlier this week, he organized a langar outside his Mumbai residence. He also recently made headlines for postponing his payment for the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan until crew members were paid, following claims by Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President BN Tiwari about unpaid dues.

Additionally, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 3 crore for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and he urged others to contribute as well. During the pandemic, he made a significant contribution of Rs 25 crore to the PM Cares Fund and Rs 1 crore to cricketer and MP Gautam Gambirā€™s foundation.

On Twitter, Akshay emphasized the importance of supporting people in need, stating, ā€œThis is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people and we need to do anything and everything it takes.ā€

Reacting to the donation, his wife Twinkle Khanna shared on X, ā€œWhen I asked him if he was sure about such a massive amount and the need to liquidate funds, he simply said, ā€˜I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing?ā€™ā€

Akshay Kumar is also preparing for the release of his film Khel Khel Mein, which is set to compete with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 on Independence Day.

Khel Khel Mein, starring Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, and Fardeen Khan, will be Akshayā€™s third film release of the year, following Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira.
