Bollywood actor John Abraham, renowned for his commitment to health and fitness, has criticized industry stars who endorse paan masala ads, comparing it to “selling death.”In a podcast with an Indian YouTuber, the “Dhoom” actor emphasized the significance of exercise and sports for a healthy lifestyle.

Abraham argued that celebrities should embody the values they promote and avoid projecting a false image to the public.”If I live my life with integrity and practice what I preach, I become a role model. However, if I present a false image publicly while behaving differently behind the scenes, people will notice,” John Abraham remarked.

Reacting to the paan masala ads featuring Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar, the “Vedaa” actor, John Abraham, expressed his refusal to endorse products that could lead to health issues.“People talk about fitness, yet some endorse paan masala.

I have great respect for my actor friends and am not disrespecting them, but I am speaking for myself. I will not promote something that contributes to health problems, as it’s a matter of principle,” John Abraham explained.

He pointed out that the paan masala industry is worth billions in India.“Even with government support making it legal, you are essentially selling death. How can one reconcile with that?” the Bollywood star remarked.

It is worth noting that Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar faced significant backlash for their appearances in a paan masala ad. Subsequently, Akshay Kumar announced that he would no longer endorse products that pose health risks.

Meanwhile, John Abraham is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Vedaa, which stars Sharvari Wagh, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Abhishek Banerjee. After experiencing delays, the action movie is now set to premiere in theaters on August 15, aligning with Indian Independence Day.
