While Prabhas’s “Kalki 2898 AD” has been a success at the Indian box office, Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi has expressed disappointment with the film. In a podcast with an Indian YouTuber, the “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S” actor criticized Prabhas’s performance, describing him as ‘like a joker’ in the sci-fi film.
Arshad Warsi praised veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who also has a significant role in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. He remarked, “I watched Kalki and didn’t like it. It’s painful to see Amit ji’s brilliance in such a film. He’s extraordinary. If we had his talent, our lives would be transformed.”
Despite his admiration for Bachchan, Warsi took issue with the film’s direction and the lead actor, claiming that the movie ended up feeling more comedic than intended.“Prabhas, I am really disappointed. Why was he… he came off as a joker. Why? I wanted to see something like Mad Max, with Mel Gibson. What have they created? I never understand why they make such choices,” Warsi commented.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ features Prabhas in the lead role, with Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan also starring. The film, inspired by the Mahabharata, has grossed INR 1,100 crore globally.Arshad Warsi’s recent work includes the web series “Asur” and “Modern Love Mumbai.”
