‘Bridgerton’ casts Yerin Ha as female lead
Netflix’s “Bridgerton” Season 4 has announced Yerin Ha as the female lead, playing the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson. He will take on the role of Sophie Beckett in the upcoming season, which will center around Benedict’s love story, according to Variety.The season will be adapted from Julia Quinn’s third ‘Bridgerton’ novel, “An Offer From a Gentleman.”
The official logline for Season 4 reads: “The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ shifts its focus to the bohemian second son, Benedict. Though both his elder and younger brothers are happily married, Benedict hesitates to settle down—until he encounters a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”Sophie Beckett, played by Yerin Ha, is the ‘Lady in Silver.’ The novel reveals that she is the illegitimate daughter of an earl and one of his maids.Ha is widely recognized for her role in the series adaptation of the “Halo” video game. She has also appeared in Australian series such as “Reef Break,” “Troppo,” and “Bad Behaviour,” and will be featured in “Dune: Prophecy.”
The Regency-era romance series, based on Julia Quinn’s books, highlights the lives of the Bridgerton siblings. Notably, Season 3 diverged from the third book in Quinn’s series, centering on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) instead of Benedict Bridgerton.
