Bollywood actors Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, known as Bittu and Jana from the ‘Stree’ series, recently shared exciting news about ‘Stree 3’. In a recent interview with an Indian media outlet, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jana in Dinesh Vijan’s supernatural franchise and serves as a connecting link between the films, hinted that fans might not have to wait another six years for the third installment.
Banerjee mentioned that parts of the script are already in place, while Khurana confirmed that the framework for ‘Stree 3’ was developed some time ago.
“Some parts of the script are already written. It’s going to be an epic saga, and as an actor, I’m eager to get back on that set,” Banerjee shared with the publication.
Khurana added that the framework for ‘Stree 3’ is complete, and they are now waiting for director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan to provide further details about the third installment. In the meantime, ‘Stree 2’, the fifth film in Maddock Films’ Supernatural Universe and a sequel to the 2018 hit, premiered last week.
It achieved the biggest opening of the year at the box office, competing against ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Vedaa’. The film garnered INR 400 crores in global ticket sales during its first week.
The sequel saw Shraddha Kapoor reprise her titular role, joined by Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. The movie also featured special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia.
