Ben Affleck’s ‘parting gift’ to Jennifer Lopez, following their recent divorce filing, has been revealed. According to an exclusive report, the actor allowed his ex-wife to handle the divorce process as a sort of ‘parting gift’ to her.
A source close to the former couple told the magazine, “This has been a long time coming.” The insider explained that Affleck and Lopez separated in April when he requested space and moved out, as their marriage was beyond repair.
The source added, “When their marriage started to crumble, JLo hoped they could salvage it, even canceling her summer tour in May. However, Ben was not interested in working things out.”
The insider continued, “Ben left the divorce filing to Jennifer, almost as if it were a parting gift. She saw finalizing it on their anniversary as a bit of sweet revenge.”
“Ben had long given up on their relationship,” the source concluded.
Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, in Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 20, which marked the second anniversary of their wedding in Georgia. They had married a month after their Las Vegas wedding on July 17, 2022.
The divorce papers, filed by Lopez, list April 26 as their separation date. The rekindled romance between the high-profile couple, known as Jennifer, which began in 2021, lasted less than three years. They had previously been engaged from 2002 to 2004 before reuniting and announcing their second engagement in April 2022.
