How Did Humayun Saeed Inspire Muhammad Ahsan?
Muhammad Ahsan has quickly become a notable figure in the Pakistan television industry, showcasing his talents as a host, writer, director, and actor. Previously with Rava Entertainment, Ahsan hosted various interviews, produced documentaries, and created short films.
He graduated from ZABIST and also studied acting at NAPA. His recent rise to fame came through his role in Green Entertainment’s hit drama serial Gentleman, where he plays Zulmi, one of Iqbal Munna’s trusted associates. Ahsan’s portrayal has captivated audiences, earning widespread acclaim.
In a recent appearance on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show hosted by Rabia Mughni, Ahsan discussed his challenging journey and the process of landing his role in Gentleman. He also shared insights about working with Humayun Saeed.
Reflecting on his first scene with Saeed, Ahsan recounted, “I was on set, pacing around and talking to myself about working with Humayun Saeed, convinced he wouldn’t show up and someone else would take his place. But then, Humayun Saeed and Ahmed Ali Butt arrived.
Seeing Humayun Saeed made me nervous and unsure about our upcoming scene together. When Humayun Saeed approached me and said, ‘Let’s do the scene!’, I was so intimidated by his presence that I struggled to deliver my lines. I kept failing until Humayun Saeed noticed I needed help.
He read the lines for me, and I wish we had footage of that moment because his performance was outstanding. His portrayal of Zulmi was phenomenal, and I wished he would perform the scene again because he truly excelled.”
Ahsan also mentioned how Humayun Saeed advised him to convey happiness while discussing Iqbal Munna’s refusal to sit on the floor, and how impressed he was by Saeed’s supportive attitude. He further shared an anecdote about a scene with Ahmed Ali Butt, where they had to pledge their loyalty to Iqbal Munna.
Ahsan performed the scene with great energy and was pleased when Humayun Saeed praised his performance. The next day, Saeed showed the scene to everyone and praised Ahsan’s work.
Ahsan was so moved by Saeed’s encouragement that he felt compelled to express his admiration, saying, “I wanted to tell Humayun Saeed, ‘I love you.’ Who else would show such kindness and appreciation to a newcomer? It was truly remarkable.”
