‘Stree 2’ Breaks Records, Overtakes ‘Jawan’ Box Office

Shraddha Kapoor’s blockbuster ‘Stree 2’ has overtaken Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ to become the highest-grossing Hindi-language film of all time in India.

Just days after surpassing heavyweights like ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ ‘Animal,’ and ‘Pathaan,’ Maddock Films’ horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ has officially claimed the top spot ahead of SRK’s ‘Jawan’ (based on Hindi version earnings only), making it the all-time number one Hindi film at the Indian box office.

The production company confirmed this achievement on Wednesday, announcing that ‘Stree 2’ is now the “No. 1 Hindi film of all time.”

Their post read, “Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth (She is Stree and she has finally done in India’s best film) No. 1 Hindi film of all time.”

They expressed gratitude to fans for contributing to this historic moment: “Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad (thanks a lot to all fans for scripting this history with us).”

The post also encouraged audiences to continue watching, stating, “Stree 2 is still running in cinemas successfully theatre aao, kuch aur naye records rachate hain (come to theatres, let’s make some more new records).”

According to figures from Indian movie trade outlets, ‘Stree 2’ has grossed INR 586 crores domestically, while the Hindi version of ‘Jawan’ recorded INR 582.31 crores over its lifetime.

In ‘Stree 2,’ Shraddha Kapoor reprises her role alongside Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Special appearances include Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia.
