Verdict Revealed: Stepfather Convicted in Laila Khan Murder Case After 13-Year Trial
After a 13-year trial, the Mumbai Session Court has finally delivered its verdict in the highly publicized Laila Khan murder case.
According to reports from ‘NDTV’, the court has identified Laila Khan’s stepfather as the perpetrator behind her tragic demise.
The court’s ruling holds Laila Khan’s stepfather accountable not only for her murder but also for the mysterious disappearance of her mother, sisters, and brothers.
Parvez Tak, the accused, has been declared guilty of the murders of Laila Khan, her mother, and her four siblings.
Additionally, he has been found guilty of tampering with evidence, as per the provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
During the course of the trial, nearly 40 witnesses, including Laila Khan’s mother and two former husbands of Selena, were interrogated. Parvez Tak, who was Selena’s third husband, maintains his innocence, alleging that he has been framed and pointing out errors in the police investigation.
The allegations against Parvez Tak stem from a property dispute in 2011, where he was accused of murdering his first wife, Selena, followed by the killings of Laila Khan and her siblings.
The revelation of the entire Khan family’s tragedy came to light months after the initial incident.
Notably, Laila Khan, originally named Reshma Patel, commenced her cinematic journey in 2002 under the moniker Laila Patel with the film “Makeup.” She achieved recognition with her role in the 2008 thriller “Wafa: A Deadly Love Story,” starring alongside Rajesh Khanna.
