Mariyam Nafees on Working with Hamza Ali Abbasi

Mariyam Nafees is an actress who does not compromise on quality.

Over her nine-year career, she has chosen her roles carefully, focusing on stories she wants to tell rather than simply appearing on screen. 

During an interview with Independent Urdu, Mariyam discussed her character Zeenat in “Jaan e Jahan,” which received much love from the audience.

When asked about playing a lead opposite Hamza Ali Abbasi, one of Pakistan’s most famous actors, Mariyam expressed that it’s not a priority for her. 

She and Hamza have been friends for years, so being cast opposite him isn’t a significant goal. If it happens, it would be great, but she isn’t actively seeking it.

Mariyam also revealed that she was initially supposed to play a different character in “Jaan e Jahan,” which was later removed from the script. 

She was then offered two more characters and chose to play Zeenat because of the character’s significant impact and perfect arc in the drama.
