Rising Indian actress Noor Malabika Das, known for her work in various web series and films including the web series “The Trial” alongside Kajol and Pakistani-born British actor Ali Khan, has tragically passed away, reportedly due to suicide.
According to the Indian news agency ANI, authorities were alerted by neighbors who noticed a concerning odor emanating from Das’s apartment on June 8th. Upon entering, they discovered the actress’s lifeless body.
The police have initiated an investigation, registering the case as an accidental death, though the exact reasons behind Das’s decision to take her own life remain unclear.
Although the police confirmed the suicide, they clarified that the discovery of Das’s body occurred on June 8th, despite reports suggesting the possibility of her death on June 6th or 7th.
No suicide note or suspicious evidence was found at the scene, yet authorities are exploring all possible angles surrounding her untimely demise.
Das, originally from Assam, had been an integral part of the film industry for several years. Prior to her acting career, she worked as an air hostess for an international airline.
Meanwhile, the Film Producers Association has urged the Maharashtra government to conduct a thorough investigation into such incidents, citing a concerning rise in suicides among individuals associated with the film, television, and modeling industries. They emphasize the need to uncover the underlying causes behind these tragedies.
