As “Yellowstone” approaches its conclusion with the final episodes scheduled for November, Paramount Network has cast Hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer as the lead in a previously announced sequel. Last year, Paramount Network revealed plans for two spinoffs: one set in 1944 as a prequel, and the other continuing the story after the original “Yellowstone,” according to Variety.
The new series, titled “The Madison,” will feature Michelle Pfeiffer in the lead role and continue the narrative of the “Yellowstone” universe. In addition to her acting role, the Oscar-nominated actress will also serve as an executive producer alongside franchise creator Taylor Sheridan.
Described as a poignant exploration of grief and human connection, “The Madison” will follow a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana. The show will continue to delve into the Dutton family dynasty, introducing new characters and locations while retaining some familiar faces.
Michelle Pfeiffer joins the cast as the latest Hollywood star in collaboration with Taylor Sheridan, following Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, who are featured in the prequel series 1923, now in production for its second and final season. Previously, there were reports of Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey being in discussions to join the show, but no formal deal was ever confirmed.
