Bollywood filmmaker Zoya Akhtar recently provided an update on the long-awaited all-girls road trip film, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, which will be directed by her brother Farhan Akhtar and stars Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. In a recent interview with an Indian media outlet, Zoya addressed the delay of the highly anticipated film, affirming that it is far from being shelved.
She explained that the delay was due to coordinating the schedules of the three leading actresses and Farhan Akhtar, saying, “Aligning their dates and Farhan’s dates has been the main challenge. The project is still very much in the works.”
It’s worth noting that actor-director Farhan Akhtar first announced the buddy film ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ in 2021, featuring three prominent actresses from the industry. Later, it was reported that rising star Ishaan Khatter would have a significant role in the film.
Despite the announcement being made three years ago, an official filming schedule for the project has yet to be set.The film is produced by Excel Entertainment, run by Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, with the story written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, who also serve as co-producers.
