Google’s New Feature Eases Multi-App Downloads

Google has introduced a new feature for Android users that enables the simultaneous installation or updating of multiple apps or games in the Play Store.

Previously, the Play Store could only handle one app at a time during downloads or updates, but with the new feature, users can now manage up to three apps at once. If more than three apps are being installed or updated, the remaining ones will be queued for later.

This update is currently being rolled out in select regions, including India, and is expected to save time for users setting up new devices or restoring from backups. While Google has not officially announced a specific launch date or device compatibility, the feature is already available on certain phones in the regions where it’s being tested.

In comparison, Apple has long allowed users to install up to three iOS apps simultaneously from the App Store.

In addition, Google is also rolling out an AI-powered anti-theft feature for Android devices. This feature, known as the ‘theft detection lock,’ aims to prevent unauthorized access to users’ data and is available for devices running Android 10 or newer.

The feature is currently being released to a limited number of beta testers in Brazil, with plans to expand its availability through Google Play Services.
